Confidence in Jordan's monetary, financial systems improves in Q1 2026

Amman, July 5 (Petra) – Confidence in Jordan's monetary system increased by 2.4% during the first quarter of 2026, and confidence in the financial system rose 20.2%, according to the Jordan Strategy Forum's (JSF) latest Jordanian Investor Confidence Index.
In a statement issued Sunday, the JSF said the monetary system confidence index reached 182.8 points, up from 178.5 points in the first quarter of 2025. The financial system confidence index climbed to 200 points, compared with 166.4 points a year earlier.
The Forum reported that bank credit extended to the private sector increased 1.2% from the previous quarter to JD32.31 billion.
Foreign investors' purchases on the Amman Stock Exchange amounted to 92.6% of the value of shares they sold during the quarter. Meanwhile, the benchmark index rose to 7,434 points, up from 7,056 points in the first quarter of 2025.
The JSF added that Jordan's real GDP grew 2.9% in the first quarter of 2026, compared with 2.7% in the same period last year and 3% in the fourth quarter of 2025.
